Organization structure of the Department of Psychiatry of First Faculty of Medicine (1^st FM) and General Teaching Hospital in Prague (GTH)

 

The clinic is managed by a head whom a deputy for medical preventive care, a deputy for science and research and a deputy for an education are subordinated. The deputy head for medical preventive care is superior to heads of wards and those manage assigned secondary physicians on individual wards of the clinic.

The clinic offers study programs to students of the First Faculty of Medicine of the Charles University in Prague, a diagnostic and medical care for patients with psychiatric difficulties and consultation activities for other medical institutions of GTH when they ask for them. The clinic also deals with forensic psychiatry and sexology. There were six following special centres built in the clinic:

 

1. Centre for diagnostics and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease
2. Centre for prophylaxis of affective disorders
3. Centre for adolescent and developmental psychiatry
4. Centre for diagnostics and treatment of eating disorders
5. Centre for neuropsychiatric research of traumatic stress
6. Centre for biological diagnosis and treatment
7. Centre for forensic psychiatry and psychology
8. Cognitive molecular centre
